"Welcome to Burnage RFC Limited. We know how important it is that grass roots rugby clubs are run like successful businesses, and we work hard to set by example just what rugby clubs can achieve to provide extended services and facilities to the communities that surround them and create a sustainable independent business model that will keep us all enjoying rugby for generations ahead.
This is another milestone year for Burnage as we will begin the 2022-23 season with a brand new and self-funded 4G artificial surface for all first team and second home games. 12 years ago, we were one of the first North West clubs to take the leap of faith with artificial grass, and I know now just how important ownership of this asset is to maintain a sustainable rugby club. The renewal of the pitch to latest RFU and FA standards and upgrades to our supporter’s infrastructure, club house and player welfare areas is another multi six figure investment and part of our perpetual investment strategy on capital projects to ensure the future of rugby here at Varley Park.
Thank you to all our members, visitors, affiliated sports clubs, participating sports people of all ages and genders, party animals and more who enjoy our inclusive and high-quality facilities. Long may it continue!
We run a successful club that puts its rugby first, whilst welcoming a whole host of other sports, community, education, social and commercial groups who use the Burnage RFC facility daily, 365 days a year. We provide a selection of unrivalled facilities on the grounds and within the club buildings.
From weddings to footgolf, car boots to a bawdy birthday bash, there is a corner of Varley Park to suite every need for every event.
- The Club Room - 90 places for dining, up to 120 guests for informal gathering
- The Grundy Suite (Available from 2023) - A newly extended facility that acts as members bar on match days and is available for small events, corporate meetings and more
- The Covered Patio - weather permitting, you can extend your even to the outside grounds via a large patio and covered pergola, where we can provide BBQ services, and optional adjacent installations of bouncy castles and ancillary entertainment.
- The Club Marquee - Connected to main club room via the pergola we can add a 72m2 (12m x 6m) fully lined and lit marquee space. Sat within an artificial short grass carpeted area, with stage and various seating options the Marquee can accommodate larger numbers of guests for special gatherings such as wakes and larger celebration events. A choice of seating arrangements in theatre of table settings can extend our formal dining solutions up to 140 guests and informally we have hosted over 400 people with the option of an additional outside bar.
- Five-a-side floodlit football pitch available 7 days a week
- New for 2022 - state of the art latest 4G RFU and FA Accredited floodlit, full-size pitch marked for multiple sports is available for hire, together with gender segregated changing facilities with showers and central heating
- Our 220-space car park is used for Car Boot Sales throughout the summer but can also be hired by film crews for location vehicles and other short term lets.
- We have two further full-size grass pitches, maintained to excellent standards and drainage that can be hired hourly for several sports or educational uses
- We are home to Footgolf Manchester. One of the most successful 9- hole footgolf courses in the UK and home to the current UK Footgolf champion! Pay and Play can be booked in advance or as a walk-in service 7 days a week throughout the summer.
- We have a 9-hole par 3 Golf course, with separate greens from the footgolf. It’s a challenging course. Pay and Play can be booked in advance or as a walk-in service 7 days a week throughout the summer
